B Safe Security is sponsoring the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware 5K Run/Walk for the Kids once again this year. We appreciate the opportunity to protect
homes and
businesses, but we are more appreciative of opportunities to give back to our community. We proudly sponsor the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, which supports families in their time of serious need.
B Safe has raised $1,500 to support this great organization, but we want to raise even more. Therefore,
we are offering all of our clients a free month of basic monitoring (up to $25) for running/walking with us. This special
one-day promotion not only raises money for the charity, but celebrates us reaching 1,000 likes on our Facebook. T
his offer is only available to the first 25 sign-ups and will close on Thursday, April 11th at noon.
What are the event details?
The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware 5K will be held at Frawley Stadium on Saturday, April 13th. Registration begins at 7:45 am, and the race starts at 9:00am. The free Kiddie K begins at 8:45am.
What is the Kiddie K?
The free Kiddie K, also called the Kids’ Corner, is an additional fun event for children ages 8 and under. The Kids’ Corner includes crafts, sidewalk chalk, facepainting, and more. The event gets your kid out of the house, shedding their winter jacket to not only have fun but to also benefit a great organization that helps families in need.
What is Ronald McDonald House?
The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware helps families with a child in the Nemours/Alfred I duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington. Families from around the world visit Nemours for medical treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware offers these families an affordable place to stay for their child’s treatments. This is important for these families because their children often need extensive treatment for serious ailments, such as cardiac issues, neonatal intensive care, neurology, and cancer/blood disorders.
Families are asked to contribute $15 per night to stay at the house, but are never turned away because of inability to pay. Their average donation is closer to $4, while operational costs are closer to $70. The average stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware is almost 8.5 days, meaning that costs rack up quickly. The standard $30 donation covers the cost of a family staying at the house for two nights.
Are there any amenities specific to the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware?
The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware provides families safe and comfortable accommodations. They provide a chance for families to feel less alone, providing the opportunity to build a support network with other families staying there. The House provides modern amenities like a private bath, Wi-Fi, and television.
The Wilmington location features a fitness center, four different playrooms, a 5-station kitchen, a library, and outside playgrounds. Volunteer groups, provide a meal or a snack every evening, and breakfast is provided by the house on the weekends. B Safe previously provided ice cream sundaes.
